Thank you for considering making a gift to Robinson to help ensure that current and future generations of Robinsonians benefit from all that a Robinson and Cambridge education has to offer. There are a number of ways in which you may choose to support the College listed below and you can make a donation, or set up a direct debit on our online donation form page.
The Robinson College Annual Fund exists to support all aspects of College life, according to the most urgent need. It provides flexibility to deal with issues that arise in the course of the year - such as unexpected maintenance issues or a student's need for additional tutorial support in a particular subject. In addition, the fund supports activities including supervision teaching, sports and music, and facilities such as the Library, construction and maintenance of College buildings and the beautiful gardens.
In the past many parents of Robinsonians expressed the wish that there was a formal mechanism for staying in touch with Robinson after their child's graduation. With this in mind we launched "The Friends of Robinson College" in 2005 and now invite parents, friends and relatives of our College Members to become Friends. Friends receive the College magazine, Bin Brook, twice a year and regular email news updates about achievements, activities and events. They are invited to join us for College and Alumni events, such as the Annual Reception and concerts and may make use of the College's renowned accommodation and conference facilities at prevailing alumni rates, subject to availability. More information is available on the Friends page.
Robinson is pleased to work with a number of firms, which sponsor particular posts, activities or events in College. Such partnerships benefit the College in many ways and give our students and other Members important networking and career opportunities. For more information on how we have worked with various companies, see our Corporate Giving pages.
Support from our Members and Friends - no matter how large or small the gift - demonstrates that those who know our College best care enough to make their own contributions. This also helps the College significantly in its subsequent approaches to other potential major sources of funding, such as trusts and foundations. For more information, see our Personal Gifts page.
Many colleges in Cambridge, with Alumni going back many generations and even centuries, beyond the foundation of Robinson College, understand very well what a significant part legacies have played, and continue to play, in securing their financial stability. Bequests have provided them with invaluable resources including, for example, buildings, bursaries, scholarships and teaching posts. While all of us hope that legacies to the College from our Members and Friends are some years away from becoming a reality, we recognise the need for long-term planning. I am sure that we all also recognise that, for the sake of our peace of mind, especially where we have dependents, thoughts will invariably turn to ensuring that our financial affairs and responsibilities are in order and this will include the preparation of a Will. See our Legacies page for a brief outline as to how your legacy could help Robinson in the future.
