Robinson College Pegasus Alumni Society and Development Office invite all theatre lovers, all passionate Shakespeare fans, and all those who would like to spend an exciting evening of laughter to come to Robinson’s own open air theatre, the Maria Björnson Theatre. It is a unique opportunity for Robinson alumni not only to make acquaintance or reacquaint themselves with Sir John Falstaff, Mistress Alice Ford, or Pistol, but also to revisit their Alma Mater and contemplate with other Robinsonians, family members and friends the wit of the Bard.
Cambridge Shakespeare Company is staging The Merry Wives of Windsor at College on 5th August. The performance starts at 7.30pm.
Shakespeare’s brilliantly witty prose comedy tells of a would-be seducer, a jealous husband and two resourceful housewives in a hilarious battle of wits and wiles. Sir John Falstaff gets more than he bargained for when he simultaneously pursues two wealthy married women. Upon receiving identical copies of Falstaff’s love letter, the spirited Mistresses Ford and Page cook up a scheme of their own to teach the fat knight a lesson, with uproariously funny results.
Robinson is offering its alumni an opportunity to purchase the tickets for that brilliant performance and come to Robinson and Cambridge again. The tickets are on sale on the Cambridge Shakespeare Festival website. Please follow this link.
