Creative Workshop for Black History Month

Thursday 19th October 2023

Creative Workshops running between 1pm and 6pm

Talk & Exhibition with Joshua between 7:30pm and 8:30pm

All in the Umney Foyer and Lounge

Following the success of the inaugural event in 2022, artist, educationalist and University of Cambridge graduate Joshua Obichere will be returning to Robinson College to host more fantastic creative workshops in celebration of Black History Month on Thursday 19th October 2023.

This year, we are delighted that Joshua will also be giving a short talk in the evening on the taught processes and experiences from the workshops, followed by a Q&A session, and there will be an exhibition of all the works produced.

The 2022 event was well received by the students at Robinson and we had fantastic feedback...

"I really enjoyed the workshop! I was a little apprehensive at first because I hadn’t done art work since secondary school (many, many years ago!) but once I arrived, it was a really chill atmosphere. Josh was really inviting, friendly and approachable and made the workshop such a nice place to participate!"

"I found the workshop to be really therapeutic in a way; I felt really relaxed after a busy day of reading and meetings as engaging in the art was a very mindful activity. The Umney Foyer was a great location to hold it…as it felt open and inviting rather than closed off in a room for example where it feels more restrictive and not many people may have seen what was happening."

Further information and registration details for the event can be found on EventBrite by using the link here or simply click the image at the top of this article.

It would be great if you could register on Eventbrite, but we will welcome any attendees that drop by the Umney Foyer during the day.
