Dr C P Hughes Teachers' Conference

Arts and Humanities
19th and 20th March 2018

The Teachers Conference was a two-day residential conference at Robinson College, focusing (this year) on Arts and Humanities applications.

The Conference started on the Monday evening with an Introduction to Admissions Process for Arts and Humanities subjects by Admissions Tutor, Dr David Woodman, followed by a 4 course dinner in the Robinson College Dining Hall with Fellows and Students. On the second day, we offered a full programme of talks and sessions from our Directors of Studies in Law, Geography, History, Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic,  and MML, giving an insight into the nuances of various courses at Cambridge, the application process, interviews, and how to make a competitive application. The delegates were able to visit the Sidgwick Site for a talk about the Theology,  Religion, and Philosophy of Religion course by Dr Simone Kotva, before having a tour of the facilities at Robinson College. The afternoon rounded off with a mock interview staged by Dr Joanna Page and first-year Geography student Sarah Beck. The conference was a great success and we look forward to receiving positive feedback from the Teachers who attended.
