Research Interests
My primary research interest is in the poetics and ethics of Montaigne’s thought, and in affect in writing; I am currently working on touch in a number of early modern texts, including Montaigne’s. My broader interests include the relationship between psychoanalytic theory and literary texts, feminist reading and writing practice, and forms of writing that challenge how we think.
Teaching Interests
I lecture on, and, teach Fr1, the first-year French scheduled paper; likewise, all the early modern papers in Parts IB and II (Fr 4, Fr8 and Fr9); I coordinate Fr4.
