Stay

Robinson College provides a very high standard of accommodation and is justifiably proud of its 4 star Campus Visit England rating. Accommodation is provided for up to 280 residents in study bedrooms. Private en-suite accommodation can be provided for 220.

We have four room types:

Best

10 Twin en-suite rooms have their own bathroom with shower-over-bath and toilet. All these rooms also have a small fridge. Many of these rooms are accessible by lift and some have views over our beautiful gardens.

Standard Plus

160 Single en-suite rooms, arranged on staircases, usually 4 per landing. All have their own bathroom with shower-over-bath and toilet. Many of these rooms are accessible by lift and some have views over our beautiful gardens.

Standard

100 Single rooms arranged in suites of two or three rooms which share a bathroom and toilet between them. These rooms are ideal for people travelling together and equally for the independent traveller who can still maintain their own privacy. Each of the rooms has its own locked door leading onto a corridor which is in turn secured from the staircase. All of these rooms are situated at the top of the building, accessible only by stairs. All have a balcony and many have a view over our beautiful gardens.

Doubles

4 Double en-suite rooms have their own bathroom with shower-over-bath and toilet. All these rooms also have a small fridge.

All rooms are well appointed and have the following facilities:

  • Central heating
  • Radio alarm clocks but not televisions
  • Beds are made with duvets in covers
  • Bath and hand towels
  • Complimentary toiletries pack
  • Tea/coffee making tray

Internet access is free of charge. All of our bedrooms have internet access via Wi-Fi or wired network point. Residents will need to provide their own laptop computer and Ethernet cable for connection to the wired network point. Ethernet cables can be purchased from the Porters Lodge.

Smoking is not permitted in any of our bedrooms. Please view our Smoking Policy here.

Some rooms are situated on almost the ground floor (up three steps) and many bedrooms and most other areas of the College are accessible by lift. It might be helpful for delegates to take into consideration that a number of rooms are located on upper floors which are accessible only by between one and five flights of stairs. There are a limited number of rooms which are suitable for delegates with access needs. Ideally those using wheelchairs should be accompanied by a companion. Please visit our accessibility pages if you have any specific concerns.

The bedrooms are conveniently close to all facilities.

College+: If extra rooms are required, or if an event falls during term time, we are able to offer nearby accommodation at branded 3-4 star hotels in Cambridge to include transport as required. We do all the work and make all the arrangements and to keep things simple, you will only receive one invoice from Robinson College as we arrange payment to the other hotels.

Conference Accommodation: We are happy to offer block bookings for conference delegates as part of a conference residential package and/or bed and breakfast/dinner, bed and breakfast packages. Such bookings would be made by an Event Organiser who we would expect to co-ordinate the arrangements and rooming list on behalf of their delegates. Alternatively, we can book an allocation of rooms and individual delegates can book and pay for their own accommodation direct with the College. In this case, the Event Organiser will be given a specific promotion code for delegates to use which will ensure availability on the appropriate dates at the agreed rates. Delegates are advised not to use any other promotion code as it is our policy not to make refunds if there is a price differential as a result of using the wrong promotion code. For advice, delegates should contact their Event Organiser or the Robinson Conference Office on +44 (0)1223 332859 conference@robinson.cam.ac.uk

Bed and Breakfast Accommodation: Bed and breakfast accommodation is provided on an individual basis during vacation periods. Our opening dates vary from year to year according to our changing term dates, an indication of which is shown below. For exact availability dates, please contact the Robinson Conference Office on +44 (0) 1223 332859 or BandB@robinson.cam.ac.uk
