Paula López Caballero is a Mexican historian and anthropologist working as a full-time tenured professor at the National University of Mexico (UNAM) and Research Associate at CLAS (University of Cambridge). The transversal hypothesis of her research is to understand the indigenous/non-indigenous divide, not as a given but as a highly unstable and elusive boundary and as an analytical problem in its own right. She is currently preparing a new monograph, tentatively titled Experts of Everyday Life. A history of ‘fieldwork’ in Mexico and the U.S., 1940-1960.
We’re delighted to announce that the Department of Culture, Media and Sport has appointed Robinson Fellow Saul Nassé as the next Chief Executive and Keeper of The National Archives in London, from July 2024. Saul was an undergraduate at Robinson from 1984-87, and was made a Fellow in 2019, when he was Group Chief Executive of Cambridge Assessment.

Charmian works on early modern women’s work and her latest articles are 'Reconstructing the Labour of Care in Early Modern England’ and Beyond the Home: Space and Agency in the Experiences of Female Service in Early Modern England’. The Research Days provide a fantastic way of learning about and discussing the wide range of research in Robinson College. They also provide our students with a wonderful opportunity to give presentations to a wider audience. Students are offered a supportive coaching session beforehand.

Last Saturday the College resounded with the voices of Robinson Alumni returning to celebrate their reunion. We hosted 1978, 1979, 1988, 1989, 1998, 1999, 2008 and 2009 cohorts with pre-dinner drinks in the Crausaz Wordsworth Building followed by dinner in the Hall for over 200 guests. Celebrations continued in the College Bar well into the evening. Over 100 alumni and their guests stayed the night in College before enjoying a sumptuous brunch on Sunday. A good time was had by all.
The Choir of Robinson College, Cambridge is delighted to have made their first commercial recording, ‘To the End of the Age’, in partnership with Prima Facie Records for release in their ‘Vignettes’ series.
Recorded on 19th March in Queens’ College Chapel, ‘To the End of the Age’ (conducted by Director of Chapel Music, Will Sims) features first recordings of six contemporary choral works premiered by Robinson Chapel Choir; five of which were premiered at services in the last twelve months. The recording will be released later this year on streaming services worldwide.
