Robinson student awarded the Innovate UK Immersive Tech Award for Technical Innovation.
Congratulations to Xiang Li, a Robinson Engineering PhD student who was awarded the Innovate UK Immersive Tech Award for Technical Innovation this week. The project microGEXT (microgesture-based text editing in VR), developed at the Department of Engineering was recognised for its potential to shape the future of immersive human-computer interaction.
Xiang Li commented "Winning the Innovate UK Immersive Tech Award (https://iuk.immersivetechnetwork.org/awards/) for Technical Innovation is a great honour and a meaningful recognition of microGEXT—our project on microgesture-based text editing in VR—and its potential to shape the future of human-computer interaction in immersive environments. The award highlights the project’s real-world impact and inspires me to continue bridging cutting-edge research with user-centered, impactful XR design".
