We think Robinson has some of the best accommodation available in the Cambridge Colleges. About half of our postgraduate rooms have their own bathrooms, and many of the rest share a bathroom between just three or four students.
Each student has easy access to the facilities you would expect to find in your home. All students have their own bedroom. Every house has a kitchen for students to use, there are washing machines and tumble driers on site, and of course there are our beautiful gardens to relax in at the end of a hard day's work.
Postgraduate students wishing to live in College are mostly accommodated in the postgraduate complex situated in Sylvester Road which provides a choice of rooms with en-suite bathrooms, or rooms with shared facilities, or in Thorneycreek House and Thorneycreek Cottage (other houses on the College site).
New postgraduate students will be offered accommodation once they have met all the conditions set by the Board of Graduate Studies. This process usually begins in July. The College is currently experiencing a shortfall in Postgraduate rooms and therefore will be unable to accommodate all students this academic year.
Postgraduate students will usually be allocated rooms for a total of 3 years, with ballots for choosing rooms being held for 2nd and subsequent year students. Subject to availability rooms may be allocated to postgraduate students who have already had 3 full years of living-in. The majority of rooms are on site and are of good quality.
The University Accommodation Service can help students to find accommodation in Cambridge. For more information, please visit https://www.accommodation.cam.ac.uk/.
The Postgraduate Tenancy Agreement can be found here.
Please note - although Postgraduate accommodation will always consist of the above pictured houses, there will be a few years, depending on College availability, that we will be unable to use all houses for Postgraduates.
