Robinson College Announces New ‘Glorious Sun Teaching and Fellowship Fund’
Robinson College is delighted to announce a generous multi-year donation from the Glorious Sun (GS) Charity Foundation to establish the Glorious Sun Teaching and Fellowship Fund.
This exciting new initiative will create opportunities for students and visiting scholars from within the Buddhist monastic community to study at Robinson College and the wider University of Cambridge. The Fund will also support the College’s teaching and research in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, strengthening our commitment to these rich academic fields. The Glorious Sun Teaching and Fellowship Fund promises to enhance our academic community, fostering deeper international and intercultural understanding, as well as opening up opportunities for interdisciplinary learning and development.
Sir Richard Heaton KCB, Warden of Robinson College, said: “We are immensely grateful to the GS Charity Foundation for this generous gift. This dedicated teaching and Fellowship fund will create new academic pathways for scholars and students from Buddhist monastic traditions and will strengthen Robinson’s contribution to Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. This new partnership also reflects Robinson’s spirit of openness, curiosity, knowledge sharing and global engagement.”
Applications are now open for those from within the Buddhist monastic community seeking to study at Robinson College in 2026 or beyond. To find out more, please email: development-office@robinson.cam.ac.uk
