Flight Paths: A new Robinson Wings mentoring scheme

Flight Paths, the new Robinson Wings mentoring scheme, offers alumni the opportunity to connect with the College and share their experience and knowledge. The programme aims to foster positive mentor-mentee relationships through which students can gain insight into future career possibilities, receive guidance and advice, and broaden their professional networks. This is of particular benefit to students who may arrive at University with lower awareness of the variety of career options in or beyond their field, the typical career development pathways, and/or how to build a professional network.

Let us know if you are interested in being added to the bank of possible mentors and we’ll get in touch.

Applications will open for students interested in receiving mentorship support at several points throughout the year. Alumni will then be contacted by the Flight Paths coordinator to see if they are available to be connected with a student whose interests align. Mentors & mentees can establish together the number of meetings at the beginning of the mentorship or as they go along to accommodate their specific schedules and goals for the mentoring scheme. For example, some paired mentors and mentees may make the most of the scheme through multiple meetings to discuss the industry, work-life balance, skill development, CV & cover letter revision, and/or interview practice and for some they may achieve everything in just 1-2 conversations.
