Finance Information for Home Fee Status Offer Holders

If you are applying for a Student Loan

If you are planning to apply for Government Financial Support (a student loan) to cover the cost of your studies, please complete the first page of our Financial Information Form only and return it to us before 8th June 2026 at apply@robinson.cam.ac.uk

Important: all offer holders must provide a completed Financial Information Form which is then passed to our Finance team for assessment after 8th June 2026. If we do not receive a completed Financial Information Form, we cannot confirm your place in College.

Our Financial Information Form

The Robinson College Financial Information Form was attached alongside your Offer Letter which we emailed to you in February.

We attached our Financial Information Form was a Word document and in pdf format for your convenience only.

If you would like us to send you our Financial Information Form again, please request this by contacting apply@robinson.cam.ac.uk

If you are planning to Self-Finance

If you are not planning to apply for Government Financial Support, it is the Policy of the College that your parents/supporters must guarantee the total cost of both your tuition fees and living costs for the duration of your course. This guarantee must be accepted by the College.

It is acceptable to us if you decide to apply for Government Financial Support to cover the cost of your tuition fees but you plan to self-finance your living costs, or vice versa. The form allows you to identify and guarantee each element separately.

How to guarantee the Total Amount

Parents/supporters can guarantee the total costs by completing our Financial Information Form.

We do not require Home fee status Offer Holders to evidence this cost. However, in some instances we may ask for further details and/or documentation to support your statement.

Living Costs (Maintenance Costs)

If an Offer Holder plans to self-finance their living costs, the College follows the University's guidance, here: https://www.undergraduate.study.cam.ac.uk/fees-and-finance/living-costs

Most students will only be in Cambridge during term time (approximately 9 months per year). When calculating your living costs, we ask that you follow the total living costs identified here.

Please note; the term 'living costs' includes accommodation, food, study materials, personal expenses and transport.

What happens if your circumstances change?

When we ask that parents/supporters guarantee the total cost of both your tuition fees and living costs for the duration of your course, we consider this your intention as you begin your studies with us.

We are aware that all Offer Holders who are eligible to apply for Government Financial Support may do so at any time during their studies. Therefore, if you have completed our Financial Information Form and guaranteed to pay the total amount for the duration of the course, it is acceptable to us if you then decide to take a student loan. In such instances, students must inform our Finance office of this change.

How to complete our Financial Information Form if you plan to Self-Finance

Our Financial Information Form was sent to you alongside your Offer Letter in February. Alternatively, you can request a form by contacting apply@robinson.cam.ac.uk

Complete page 1 of the form:

We would expect to see that you have answered 'Yes' to Q1 and 'No to either Q2 or Q3, or both.

Complete page 2 of the form:

The Offer Holder must first add their name and sign, and date, the form.

We then ask parents/supporters to sign the final statement which is the guarantee.

To do this, your parents/supporters must calculate the total cost of both your tuition fees and your living costs for the duration of your course.

Calculate the total cost of your tuition fees for the duration of your course:

If your course is 3 or 4 years, please calculate for the duration of 3 years;

e.g. £ Tuition Fee x 3 = Total Tuition Fee

Calculate the total cost of your living costs (maintenance costs) for the duration of your course:

If your course is 3 or 4 years, please calculate for the duration of 3 years;

e.g. £ Living Costs x 3 = Total Living Costs

Add the Total Tuition Fee and the Total Living Costs together. This is the amount you must now add to the form and sign to guarantee the total cost for the duration of your course.

Please note that the signature on the form must be a real signature.

Once you have completed the form, please scan the form (a pdf is preferred) and return it to us at apply@robinson.cam.ac.uk

Your form will be passed to the Finance team for assessment after 8th June 2026

The Admissions office will email you to confirm with you as soon as your form has been accepted.
