This year, Robinson College is once again involved with the Mathematics Open Day. This year, we will take part on Saturday 10th May. Morning sessions will be hosted at colleges and the afternoon activities will be held at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (CMS).
We are particularly excited to welcome Dr Tom Crawford to work on some of the sessions with us. You may know Tom from his YouTube or social media presence, @tomrocksmaths, or even from his recent appearance on Countdown!
We will be able to cover travel costs for any students from state-maintained schools interested in joining us at Robinson for these events, who would be otherwise prohibited in doing so for financial reasons. We strongly believe that everyone who wants to should be able to join the activities, despite their socio-economic background. Students wishing to claim for cover of travel costs should email Kaz at outreach@robinson.cam.ac.uk
Below is a provisional timetable for the morning part of the day, hosted at Robinson College:

In the afternoon, the Faculty of Mathematics offers a programme of in-person activities, including:
Mathematical talks

Preparation for interviews sessions
Talk for parents and supporters
Leaflets about the course structure and about career in mathematics will be available for you to collect, and summarise the more comprehensive information in our Guide to Admissions booklet. The 'drop-in' sessions with students and staff throughout the afternoon offer you the opportunity to ask questions about admissions and the course.
In addition to the in-person sessions, several recordings are available on the Faculty's YouTube channel, including mathematical talks and taster lectures, STEP workshops, and a mock interview.
The Open Day is a great way to get involved with preparing for Mathematics at University, and particularly learning and seeing what Mathematics at Cambridge entails. Everyone is welcome!
Please note that the General Open Days for all subjects and departments are taking place on Thursday 10th July and Friday 11th July this year.
