Power Outage - 29th September 2026
---
Dear Colleagues,
Please be advised that the planned electrical shutdown previously communicated (21st September) has been rescheduled to Monday 29 September 2026.
New Outage Window
Monday 29 September (evening) through to the early hours of Tuesday 30 September
This outage is required to facilitate the transfer from the College onto the new electrical transformer as part of the ongoing estate improvement works.
Why Has the Date Changed?
Following further coordination with utility providers and contractors, the project team has identified significant benefits in allowing additional time for installation, commissioning and testing of the new electrical infrastructure before the final changeover takes place. This will provide greater assurance that the new infrastructure is operating correctly prior to transfer.
What to Expect
During the outage period:
Power will be unavailable across College buildings.
Building services that rely on electricity may be temporarily unavailable.
Some IT, audio-visual and network services may be affected while systems are safely shut down and restarted.
Further operational guidance will be issued closer to the shutdown date, including any specific arrangements for departments, events, conferences or critical services.
Action Required
Please update any diary entries, event plans, room bookings or operational activities that may have referenced the previously advertised date of 21 September.
Thank you for your patience and support as we undertake these essential works to improve the resilience and capacity of the College's electrical infrastructure.
Kind regards,
Estates Department
