The 2020 Alumni Open Weekend and Dinner: 21 - 22 March 2020: open to all Alumni
The Annual Alumni Open Weekend at Robinson College is a great opportunity to come back to Cambridge to revisit your old haunts, and meet your friends, colleagues and Fellows whom you have never forgotten, but may not have seen for a long time.
The Open Alumni Dinner is for any and all alumni every year, where group tables can be reserved in advance e.g. a group of friends, sports group, subject group and within or across the years.
This year three Robinson alumni working in the fields of dementia, disease and allergy, will discuss the latest developments in their respective fields and public understanding of their work. Chaired by Dr Judith Richards, the panel will begin by reflecting on their time at Robinson and how they chose their careers.
The Alumni Forum 2020: THE FUTURE OF MEDICINE
Chair: Dr Judith Richards, Senior Member, Robinson College, Consultant Medical Microbiologist, Deputy Director of Infection Control.
Professor Wendy Barclay (Natural Sciences – Biological, 1982), Imperial College London, specialising in virology
Professor Adam Fox (Medicine, 1990), Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals, London, specialising in paediatric allergy
Professor John O'Brien (Medicine, 1980), Cambridge Neuroscience, specialising in dementia.
We hope you will enjoy the biomedical theme of the weekend, and the views and experiences of our speakers on Saturday afternoon. We hope to have a strong representation from the biomedical group at a group dinner table. We look forward to discussing a possibility of volunteering initiatives which will benefit our current biomedical students and enable our alumni to share their experiences and views on possible careers in their field. The Robinson Biomedical Sciences Alumni Association holds events involving alumni, fellows, senior members and students, and we would value your participation in those events and initiatives. Correspondence about the Association's activities is also welcome; please contact Dr Brian McCabe on email@example.com.
This is also the final weekend of the 2020 Cambridge Science Festival and you may wish to enjoy some of the events and sessions scheduled in the Festival. Please book these and see the science options on the Festival website:www.sciencefestival.cam.ac.uk
