Brickhouse Theatre Company has had an amazing Michaelmas 2016 season, with five fantastic shows. We welcomed new groups such as Pembroke Players Japan Tour with their production of 'Romeo and Juliet', and welcomed back the Gilbert and Sullivan Society with their production of 'The Gondoliers'. The Brickhouse also opened-up the opportunity for new student writing with Jonathan Shamir's 'The Connection', and allowed Robinson students to showcase new skills in our sell-out musical production of 'Joseph and Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat', which featured Robinson students Luke Dell and Anthony Gray as director and musical director, and Harry Normanton as Joseph. And thanks to the RCSA, we secured a £9500 investment for the purchase of brand-new metrodeck staging, which featured in the musical.

The company are also overjoyed with the popularity of this term's events. We welcomed nearly 1500 guests into the Auditorium in the five weeks of productions including University staff and students, families, members of the community, and Robinson alumni. Our flagship production of 'Joseph' was more successful than any production in recent Brickhouse memory, selling over 800 tickets, featuring an incredible youth choir, and making just short of £5000 in ticket revenue, which will be reinvested into the company for future long-term projects and show funding. We have also implemented a new Front of House strategy and introduced a pre-show and interval bar. The Brickhouse Theatre Company Committee 2016-17 has had an exceptional first term, and have achieved great things. We would like to extend our gratitude out towards all those who engaged with the theatre during the Michaelmas term as well as everyone who has been involved with or came to see any of our shows.
