In the short space of time since we launched Robinson’s Coronavirus Emergency appeal, our alumni and friends, many of whom are facing their own challenges, have rallied to help us with characteristic generosity. Gifts and messages of support have come in from all over the world, with many donors giving to Robinson for the first time. A total of £134,172 has so far been raised in gifts and pledges for future years – every gift enables us to better shield our students and staff from the impact of the pandemic, and we are sincerely grateful for every single one.
One of those gifts deserves a special mention: an anonymous Robinsonian wanted to make a difference to our Appeal and has very generously offered to match the first £1,000 of every donation to the Emergency Fund, up to a total of £31,000. For those supporters who have never made a gift to Robinson, the incentive to contribute is even greater – their donation will also qualify for the Harding Challenge matching fund, multiplying the impact of their gift still further and enabling us to help even more Robinson People at this most difficult time.
We understand that now may not be the right time for you to make a gift, but if you can, it really will help and all gifts are genuinely appreciated. The Emergency Fund is there to support our students and staff when they most need it and will help us to reduce the impact of this crisis on them over the coming months. Together we can ensure that our students achieve their full potential at Robinson, regardless of the impact of Coronavirus on their or their family’s finances, and that our catering, domestic, maintenance, gardening and portering staff are shielded from the effect that this pandemic has had on the College’s finances.
