A new President for the Society of British Neurological Surgeons

October 14, 2024
Peter Hutchinson

Peter Hutchinson, Robinson Fellow and Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Cambridge and Honorary Consultant Neurosurgeon at Addenbrooke’s Hospital commenced his 2-year term as President of the SBNS on 26th September at the Gala Dinner at the SBNS Autumn Meeting in Birmingham.

Hutch has a long association with the SBNS, spanning 30 years and has had many roles on Council.  In his opening speech he thanked Professor Peter Whitfield (SBNS President 2022-2024) and Council for their excellent contributions to the society and stated he is looking forward to leading the SBNS over the next two years, and celebrating its 100th Anniversary in 2026 at the SBNS100 Meeting in London.

Over the next 2 years, in addition to promoting the future of neurosurgery, innovation and the global initiative, the SBNS plans to continue supporting training and workforce planning, the Equality and Diversity initiative, the National Neurosurgery Audit Programme and working with the NHS in terms of commissioning and optimising service delivery.

Congratulations Hutch!
