Congratulations to alumnus Saul Metzstein (Architecture, 1989) on winning his first Emmy for Outstanding Directing for Slow Horses (Series 5). The popular spy thriller series from Apple TV stars Gary Oldman, Jack Lowden and Kristin Scott Thomas. 

On receiving his trophy at the star-studded Emmy Awards 2026 last night in Los Angeles, Saul said: “I want to thank Will Smith, who is the nicest man in the entire world and the best showrunner anyone could work for. Thank you to our incredible execs, cast and crew…We really had the BEST CREW EVER!”

Saul has also previously been nominated for Outstanding Directing of a Drama Series for Slow Horses (Series 3) and directed every episode of each series.
