Robinson medic running Cambridge Half

January 30, 2026
Omar Elkhouli

On the 8th of March, Omar Elkhouli will be running the Cambridge half marathon to raise money for Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust to help funds for the proposed Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital and also for Human Appeal, as part of their emergency aid fund for Sudan’s humanitarian crisis. As the Cambridge half falls during Ramadan Omar will be fasting throughout (no food or water) which will make it even more of a challenge!

Omar said "I'm supporting Human Appeal (Sudan crisis) as I am ethnically from Egypt which is very close to Sudan both geographically and culturally I am passionate about supporting those affected and rising awareness for the injustice and inhumane treatment that the Sudanese people have been exposed to throughout the ongoing civil war.

I'm also passionate about supporting ACT, because the proposed Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital will hopefully lead to breakthroughs in Cancer Research and save many lives. This is important to me, not only because of my studies as a medical student, but also because sone of my family members have suffered with cancer".
