On the second floor of the XVIIth century Grade II listed building in the centre of the medieval York at The Loft, the Chef/Prioprietor, Michael Hjort serves French-influenced food using mainly seasonal local produce. Robinson Alumni are offered an opportunity to participate in wine tasting followed by gourmet lunch on Saturday, 7 May from 12:45 for wine tasting and lunch from 13:30.
This event organised by local Robinsonian, Nicky Forsdike (Music, 1980) will offer a great opportunity for the local Robinson Alumni to meet fellow alumni, rekindle some lost connections and have a great time together.
12:45 – arrival for wine tasting
13:30 – arrival for lunch
Note: the Alehouse is open from 12pm
York still has a medieval (and older) street pattern which does not lend itself to road traffic. Access to the city centre is restricted and parking is not always easy to find. However, public transport links into the city centre are good.
By car: use any of the park and rides around the city – Grimston Bar on the A1079 offers the closest access to Walmgate Ale House.
By train: From York station it’s a pleasant 15-20 minutes’ walk across the historic city centre to reach the venue.
Book your participation following this link. There is no dress code. When booking, please indicate whether you will be attending only wine tasting/only lunch, or both.
See our Event Terms and Conditions here. Please note that there will be photography taken during the event.
