Corporate Gifts

Robinson is pleased to work with a number of firms, which sponsor particular posts, activities or events in College. Such partnerships benefit the College in many ways and give our students and other Members important networking and career opportunities.

Laura Ashley Holdings

Laura Ashley Holdings is generously endowing the Laura Ashley Holdings Cambridge Scholarship at Robinson. More information is on our bursaries and scholarships pages.

Herbert Smith Freehills LLP

Herbert Smith Freehills LLP sponsors the Robinson College Law Library, providing over £3,000 per annum at present towards the costs of acquisitions.  The cost of running our student Law Library is expensive, especially relative to other subjects, because of the constantly changing nature of many of its sources.   The Law Fellows and supervisors endeavour to make prudent spending decisions and have achieved some cost reductions by using some online access to journals and statutes, so that the new acquisitions cost just over £10,000 per annum to maintain the College’s working collection of sources, of which approximately 40% is for text books and 60% for journals.

Hogan Lovells Bursary

Hogan Lovells is committed to fostering diversity and social mobility within the legal profession and wishes to ensure that prospective students are encouraged to study law regardless of their background.  As part of their commitment to ensuring fairness and access to the legal profession, Hogan Lovells make an annual donation of £1000 to each college and university that they work with to put towards bursaries.  Robinson College is very grateful to be in receipt of this annual donation.

Annual Law Dinner

Each year a Law firm hosts the annual Robinson Law Dinner, which brings together current students and Law Fellows with Robinson lawyers who are practising as solicitors, barristers, in-house Council and working in other areas.  The 2019 Law Dinner is being very kindly hosted by Norton Rose Fulbright and we are grateful to the following firms for their support in recent years:  Hogan Lovells, DLA Piper, Herbert Smith Freehills, Baker McKenzie, Mayer Brown, Weil, Gotshal & Manges, Simmons & Simmons, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Jones Day.

Law Revision Week

Each year the Robinson Law students take part in an off-site week of revision supervisions at our sister college, St Catherine's, Oxford.  We are grateful to the following firms for their sponsorship in 2019, which allows students to attend regardless of their financial circumstances:  Baker McKenzie, Hogan Lovells, Norton Rose Fulbright, Slaughter & May and Venner Shipley.
