Robinson College hosts and organises a number of events through the year designed to inform prospective students and their supporters about the University and the College.

Our College Open Events are a chance for you to come and visit us, take a look at our facilities, and find out about the courses we have to offer.
The next Cambridge University Open Days will be on Thursday 4th July and Friday 5th July 2024.
The New Directions Composition Competition aims to share the joy of music by encouraging young people to create their own original composition.
January to March 2024
The Robinson Access Programme (RAP) is an online scheme for Year 11 / S4 / Year 12 (Northern Ireland) and Year 12 / S5 / Year 13 (Northern Ireland) students, designed to help you think about university as an option for your future. The programme will consist of online sessions held most weeks after school from January to March 2024.
Some sessions will be applicable to both Year 11 and 12 students. These include sessions on Cambridge life and studies. There will also be sessions aimed at either Year 11 or Year 12, on choosing A Levels or thinking about the university application process.
Robinson College is involved with ClickCambridge, an online outreach programme for Bangladeshi, Pakistani and Arab students in Y12 (England and Wales), S5 (Scotland), or Y13 (NI). It is run collaboratively by a group of Cambridge colleges, and aims to equip students with the information and skills to apply to selective universities.
Dates throughout March 2024
The OCID webinars are a collaborative programme between the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. They are designed to provide students and their supporters with an insight into the two institutions: the structure of the universities, what student life is like, the application process, and how to prepare a strong application.
The OCID webinars are open to anyone associated with a school in the wider South West region (Bath and North East Somerset, Bournemouth, Bristol, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Plymouth, Poole, Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon, Torbay, and Wiltshire).

8th-9th April 2024
The Women in Science Festival (WiSF) is an annual event run by Robinson College designed to inspire and encourage female students to pursue scientific study at university, and to apply to Cambridge and to Robinson should they so wish.
It is open to students in Year 11 / S4 / Year 12 (Northern Ireland) and Year 12 / S5 / Year 13 (Northern Ireland).

2nd-3rd July 2024
The Subject Residentials are an opportunity for students to gain an insight into university learning at Cambridge, through subject taster sessions and lectures led by the College's academic community.
This structure allows students to consider and compare multiple subjects - including those they may not have previously encountered - and gain an insight into the connections and skills that underpin degree courses within each discipline.
6th-7th July 2024
The Subject Residentials are an opportunity for students to gain an insight into university learning at Cambridge, through subject taster sessions and lectures led by the College's academic community. For the Biological and Physical Sciences Residential, the subject streams are as follows:
- Biological Sciences - Biological and Chemical Natural Sciences, Medicine, Psychology
- Physical Sciences - Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Physical Natural Sciences
Late July 2024, TBC
Robinson College is working with international law firm Slaughter and May to provide a two-day residential for Year 12 / S5 / Year 13 (NI) students considering applying for Law at university. The residential will entail an introduction to Law at university, workshops to practise the skills required of Cambridge Law students, as well as a chance to explore both the academic study of law and its practice.
This is a new residential opportunity led by the Robinson College Students' Association (RCSA), and in particular their Racial Equalities Officers. This residential is aimed at students entering Year 11 / S4 / Year 12 (Northern Ireland) who identify as BME (Black or Minority Ethnic), and who are interested in gaining an insight into selective universities.
The residential will provide an opportunity for academically-able students to explore student life, university-level learning, as well as receive valuable information about making competitive university applications.
The 2024 Teachers' Conference will be held on Tuesday 19th March in the London Borough of Wandsworth.

Year 13 / S6 / Year 14 (Northern Ireland)
The aim of the STEP Prep Day is to introduce students to the STEP exam, the style of questions used in the STEP papers, and the thought required to tackle them. The event will include an admissions talk and Q&A, a virtual introduction to the College, and sessions designed to familiarise students with STEP questions, led by current students and teaching staff from the University of Cambridge. The focus of the academic sessions will be on Mathematics and Mechanics, rather than Statistics.
