The Society recognises and celebrates those who have chosen to remember Robinson College in their Will.
Membership is offered to all those who have informed the College of their intention to leave a legacy gift to Robinson. While the decision to remember the College in your Will is entirely personal, letting us know of your intentions enables us to thank you during your lifetime and to recognise your commitment to the future of Robinson.
As Robinson approaches its 50th anniversary, we are reminded that the College itself was founded through an act of extraordinary generosity and vision. Members of the Crausaz Wordsworth Society continue that tradition today, helping to ensure that Robinson remains academically ambitious, inclusive and open to talent regardless of background for generations to come.
By remembering Robinson in your Will, you are helping to ensure that future generations of students can continue to benefit from the opportunities, community and academic excellence that have defined the College since its foundation.
A message from the President
The Society’s President is Dr Mary E Stewart, one of Robinson’s Founding Fellows
Robin
son College holds a unique place in my heart. As a Life Fellow, I’ve been part of it from the very start, having served as Tutor, Director of Studies and Deputy Warden, and I’ve watched it grow from a self-consciously new institution into one that is confident, open-minded and ambitious.
I'm particularly proud that, over almost five decades, Robinson has maintained its commitment to inclusivity – of both people and disciplines – enabling those from all backgrounds to benefit from its combination of friendliness and excellence, in whichever subject fires their imagination.
Now I want to help ensure that this richness of experience continues well beyond my own time as an active participant in College life, so I'm including a legacy in my Will to help make that possible. High ambitions, unfortunately, incur high costs.
Personally, I'm particularly keen to support the study of European languages, an undervalued discipline that faces considerable challenges in both schools and universities and is likely to come under increasing pressure in the years ahead. You will, of course, have your own personal priorities, whether academic or social, but I hope you may feel strongly enough to want to see them sustained and developed.
I'm proud to be the first President of the Crausaz Wordsworth Society, which brings together those in the privileged position of both wanting and being able to support this wonderful College in the future through legacies.
I look forward to welcoming members old and new, and to thanking you personally for your commitment to Robinson's future.
Members of the Crausaz Wordsworth Society are invited to an annual breakfast reception held as part of Donor Day. These gatherings provide an opportunity to renew connections with the College, meet fellow members of the Society and hear more about Robinson's priorities and ambitions for the future.
Members receive invitations to selected College events throughout the year, including lectures, discussions and cultural occasions, offering opportunities to remain connected with the intellectual and social life of Robinson.
Members receive printed copies of the Bin Brook alumni magazine and the College's annual Donor Report - keeping them informed about life at Robinson, the achievements of our students and Fellows, and the impact of philanthropy across the College.
If you have already remembered Robinson in your plans for the future, we would be very pleased to hear from you and to welcome you to the Society.
