Baxandall Visiting Fellowship

Robinson College invites applications for the Baxandall Visiting Fellowship from outstanding scholars who intend to spend a research period in Cambridge.

The Baxandall Visiting Fellowship supports visiting established academics who are spending a period of time in Cambridge for the purposes of research, by offering them an affiliation with Robinson College and accommodation.  The Fellowship must be held for a minimum of one term, up to a maximum of three terms. Applications are currently being accepted for visits starting in Michaelmas (October 2024), Lent (January 2025) or Easter (April 2025) terms.

The Visiting Fellow would be entitled to accommodation in college or, if no suitable accommodation is available, an equivalent allowance (up to £1500 a month) which may be used towards accommodation elsewhere.  The Fellow will be a member of the college entitled to meals in the Senior Combination Room and in Hall.  The Fellow will be expected to deliver a lecture to Robinson College at some point during the fellowship.

Applications should be sent, preferably by e-mail, to: the Warden, Robinson College, Cambridge CB3 9AN, U.K, wardens.ea@robinson.cam.ac.uk by 31 May, 2024 referencing the Baxandall Visiting Fellowship.

An application should include an academic CV including a list of publications, along with a statement of purpose which describes (a) the programme of research that the candidate intends to pursue during the fellowship; (b) how the research might connect with the work of current college fellows; and (c) any other ways in which the candidate might contribute to college life during the fellowship.  Candidates should also provide the names of two references, one of whom should be based in Cambridge.
