Robinson College requires a full-time Relief Porter (average 37 hours per week) for duties in the Porters’ Lodge.
College Porters are the front reception and principal interface with Fellows, staff, students, conference delegates’ guests and visitors to the College. They have a wide responsibility for the security of the buildings and the safety of the people who use them. The duties are principally undertaken in the College and its grounds.
Applicants for this important, front of house post, must possess strong communication skills and have experience of working within a customer focused team. The successful candidate must be prepared to work very flexibly in a relief role to cover the absences of other Porters during both day and night shifts, as well as working core shifts during the week and weekends. This means that shifts will entail working on a 24/7 hour basis. The role requires the successful applicant to be available for any shift at very short notice as and when is requested, in addition to planned shifts to cover pre-booked absence.
Benefits include:
• A contributory pension scheme
• Free meals on duty
• Uniform provided
• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (FTE)
A satisfactory DBS check will be required.
