Scope:
The College can offer up to £200 for students to support worthwhile activities out of the ordinary scope of your studies. This is to contribute towards costs incurred for a wide range of activities such as university and college sports, activity clubs, CULP language courses, music lessons, developing skills, attending academic events, dissertation costs, expensive course-related books or equipment (e.g. stethoscopes), DBS checks, attending internships and work placements.
For representative sport participation, University badged clothing costs may be claimed. Match fees, travel costs and some paid for training sessions will probably be eligible. Neither membership nor subscriptions are eligible (the RCSA will often reimburse subscriptions up to £25 per year). Please note clothing or equipment which is not University-badged – boots, shoes, bats, rackets etc can NOT be claimed as part of this. Gym Membership can NOT be claimed.
Eligibility:
All full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students in any year of study. Postgraduates should apply to the Postgraduate Academic Expenses Fund for any study-related costs.
Amounts:
The College will contribute up to £200 as a reimbursement. Receipts for the costs incurred must be provided. Claims can usually only be made once by any student in any academic year.

Copies of receipts for the expenses incurred must be uploaded to the form, and if you are applying for a CULP language course a certificate of completion is also needed. If your application is successful, you will be notified by email, and invited to submit your bank details.

Applications are open during the last 4 weeks of Michaelmas, Lent and Easter Terms. Awards are granted at times convenient to the Financial Tutor.
Up to £500 per financial year (1 July - 30 June) for PhD students and £250 per financial year for MPhil students and Veterinary Medics & Medics in their 4/5&6th years is available to cover expenses such as conference fees, academic related travel, thesis printing and binding costs etc. This fund cannot be used to cover expenditure on books or other equipment. You should apply to the fund, in advance, in the year in which the expenditure will be incurred and provide any receipts in support of your application. Scope:
The College can make awards for students who plan a special project or activity which are beyond the scope of the Student Activity Grants. The awards are competitive, and the total amount available to be awarded each year is set by the College’s finance office.
The range is broad: for example projects might include the cost of mounting a production at the Edinburgh Fringe over the long vacation, representing the UK at a sports event or representing the College/University at a prestigious event. Such expenses may include those connected with: Travel, participation fees, accommodation, venue hire, and subsistence and any other expenses incurred as a result attending the event at the discretion of the awarding committee.
Eligibility:
All undergraduate and postgraduate students in any year of study.
Amounts:
The maximum individual award is £1,000.
How Decisions are Made:
Decisions will be made an awarding committee comprised of the Warden, Senior Tutor and the Financial Tutor, on the basis of your application form.
Awards will be determined based on the merit of the proposed event, but priority will be given to projects that make the greatest contribution to the arts, sport, or society and/or offer the greatest development potential for the applicant. An applicant’s financial situation will also be taken into consideration.
The final number and value of the grants shall be determined annually by the Awarders, with flexibility dependent on number and quality of applications.

Applications are made by completing the online application form here. If your application is successful, you will be notified by email, and invited to submit your bank details. If you are planning an overseas trip, you will be asked to complete a risk assessment.
After your activity or event, you must submit a report (max 500 words) to the Financial Tutor, which will be passed to the Development Office to be used for fund-raising purposes. This should explain what the activity was, what this meant to you, and how the award money helped you.
Application dates:
An 8-week window commencing with the last 4 weeks of Lent Term. Decisions made during the Easter Term.
Scope:
The College will support Cambridge-based internships/placements which are not part of their course, but nevertheless has Director of Studies support. The support, in the form of a rent subsidy, will depend on the level of remuneration; zero pay results in 100% subsidy, whilst full time work at the minimum wage, attracts a 10% subsidy. The subsidy is limited to 8 weeks. These grants are funded from the Pegasus and Bye Fellows funds.
Eligibility:
Any undergraduate students who are returning to Robinson in October.
Amounts:
The maximum award is 8 weeks of accommodation in College. This is unlikely to be in your term-time room.
Full rent subsidy for students on unpaid internships. An EPOS subsidy of £150 is also available to those on unpaid internships.
50% discount for those earning up to £150 per week, and a 25% discount for those earning over £150 but less than £250 per week. For those earning more than this, for example being paid the minimum wage and working full time, we give a 10% discount.

If your application is successful, you will be notified by email and invited to book your accommodation dates with the Accommodation Officer.
