Building your network & preparing for Careers Fairs
Monday 13 October, 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Auditorium Lounge
If you’re researching career options, or looking for a job or internship, the idea of reaching out to employers or people doing the jobs you’re interested in for advice can feel daunting. How can you contact them, and what should you ask for? This workshop will help you to:
- recognise why making connections matters, and how it can help you move your career forward
- identify sources of support and how to access them
- use strategies to build connections in a virtual world
- employ 3 principles of effective networking
With many Careers Fairs taking place during Michaelmas Term, we will also spend time discussing how best to prepare and engage with employers.
The workshop will take place at Robinson College. If we can make any adjustments to enable you to access the session, please get in touch with Caroline Lindner, Careers Consultant on cl2010@cam.ac.uk.
