Professor Carlos Caldas and his colleagues from other European Cancer Centres have been forced to rethink and adjust their cancer patient care methodology and research as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Faced with disruptions to the established cancer management and operations offered by their medical institutions until now, researchers have remodeled all their operations to make them 'pandemic proof'. They have created a set of guidelines and practical measures to safeguard continuity in cancer care. They have also acknowledged that the progress of cancer research will suffer major ramifications as a result of the global pandemic.
