How and when to apply to graduate

Graduands must meet the necessary criteria to receive the degree they wish to have conferred. For example, they may need to fulfil residence and examination requirements or to receive formal approval from the Board of Graduate Studies.

Prior to graduation graduands must settle outstanding University and College fees and bills and return University books loaned to the relevant library.

If you are eligible to receive a degree, congratulations! Here is how you apply to graduate:

  • Current Robinson undergraduate finalists, please click here regarding application arrangements because they are different for General Admission.
  • Former Robinson undergraduate students wishing to receive the MA, who matriculated in Michaelmas Term 2019 or later, please click here for application arrangements, since they are different for the MA Ceremony.
  • Robinson DD, LLD, MD, LittD, ScD, MusD, BD, VetMD or MChir degree candidates, in order to apply to graduate, please email the Praelector’s Secretary at ljh65@robinson.cam.ac.uk at least five months before your preferred ceremony, as the application process and conferral arrangements are unlike those of other degree candidates.
  • All other eligible Robinson candidates, to apply to graduate, please email the Praelector’s Secretary at ljh65@robinson.cam.ac.uk between three months to three weeks before your preferred ceremony takes place, stating how (in person or in absence) and when you would like to receive your degree. The more notice you give, the better, to allow time to send you relevant information and in case the places fill up.
