Robinsonians who matriculated in 1977, 1987, 1997 and 2007, or who joined the College as Postgraduates in those year groups, were invited to the Reunion Dinner on Saturday 25 March, as part of the Alumni Reunion Weekend. All alumni from other matriculation groups were also invited to attend the weekend's festivities, including the Reunion Dinner. It was wonderful to welcome back so many of our alumni to College!
Historic England have announced that Robinson College has been listed at Grade II* by the Department of Digital Media, Culture and Sport.
The largest project ever undertaken by architects Isi Metzstein and Andy MacMillan for Gillespie, Kidd & Coia, Robinson was praised as a site of ‘very great architectural variety, inventiveness and interest’. Particular attention was drawn to the Chapel and Library, in which the building was considered to come closest ‘to an all-encompassing artwork’.
Robinson Fellow, Professor Rachel Oliver, has been awarded £2.5M by the Royal Academy of Engineering to develop her work on porous semiconductors. Funded by the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the Chair in Emerging Technologies scheme aims to identify global research visionaries and provide them with long-term support. The award will enable Oliver, Professor of Materials Science and Director of the Cambridge Centre for Gallium Nitride, to focus on strategic approaches for taking her technology from the bench to the boardroom.

Robinson College Virtual Donor Day , Sunday 28 June 2020
Donor Day is a celebratory occasion which gives us the opportunity to express our gratitude to those who have supported Robinson since its Foundation, over 40 years ago. This year the day is held in the virtual domain, and it gives us a great pleasure to invite you to join us and enjoy the especially prepared programme from the comfort of your home, or wherever you may be. We hope that very soon we will have a chance to offer you our thanks in person at Robinson.
Programme:
A Fellow of Robinson College is first author on an article published today in the prestigious Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Dr Andrej Corovic was part of a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and doctors led by senior research author Dr Jason Tarkin, which has demonstrated that a new clinical imaging technique holds major promise for the diagnosis and treatment of a rare group of inflammatory blood vessel disorders known as large vessel vasculitis (LVV).
On International Womens’ Day, Robinson postgraduate student Ruth Jepkemoi tells us about her journey from Kenya to Cambridge.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this year's Binson Gives!
Robinson alumna Claire Spencer (Theology, 1991) attended the Coronation of King Charles III on Saturday 6 May. Below, she shares her experience of this incredible day.
'We gather at dawn on the banks of the Thames facing Lambeth Palace. Well, not exactly at dawn but it was early, and drizzling (of course). A bunch of slightly bemused, so-called outstanding Australians, called upon to represent our country and experience the Coronation of King Charles III on behalf of the 25m of us back home.
