Fred Boyne Sporting Achievement Fund

Sports are an integral part of Robinson College life and many of our students, staff and Fellows are actively involved in sports including rowing, sailing, football, hockey, rugby, cricket, lacrosse, water polo and athletics.

Mr Fred Boyne was the first Head Porter of Robinson and was well-known to the early generations of Robinsonians. He was passionate about college sport, so it seemed appropriate that when he retired that the Fred Boyne Sporting Achievement Fund was started in his honour to recognise his great and continued interest. The Fund exists to help defray the costs of specialist coaching, sports equipment purchases, travel to sporting events and fixtures and other similar incidental costs. The Fund makes awards of around £500 per year to support College sportsmen and women who are playing their chosen sport at University level.
