Robinson May Balls have been around since the early 1980s. An event called Castle Carnival was held in 1983, followed by the Barefoot Ball, the first full blown May Ball, in 1984. The image here shows a selection of flyers from the 1980s and 1990s [Archive ref. RCCS 2/6/1/3/2]. We are trying to pull together a full set of Ball ephemera such as posters, flyers, programmes, tickets and wristbands. This project received a boost with a large collection of 21^st century posters donated by Dr Chris Warner in 2019.
