Robinson College MCR President, Andrew Fischer, is delighted to announce that he married Joanna Henney BA (Peterhouse) MPhil (Trinity Hall) in Robinson College Chapel on Saturday, 21 September 2024.
Andrew is a PhD candidate in Japanese Studies – he met Joanna at the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies shortly after arriving at Cambridge. After the ceremony, they celebrated their wedding breakfast at Peterhouse. Andrew and Joanna would like to thank everyone at Robinson College for contributing to their special day.
Prof. Badu is an Associate Professor in organic and natural products chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. Her research seeks to promote indigenous underutilized oilseeds and nuts to address food security challenges in Ghana. Mercy Badu applies novel approaches to identify and characterize the chemical functionality of extracts from different parts of plants, establish their macronutrients, micronutrients, anti-nutritional factors and medicinal properties, targeting SDGs 2 and 3.
We're delighted to announce that we have appointed a new Director of Development, Katharine Cantell, who will join us on 30 September.
Katharine is an experienced fundraising professional. She joins Robinson from St Edmund’s College, Cambridge, where she established the College’s Development Office in 2011. Katharine held several roles at St Edmund’s, most recently working as Development Manager since 2018, in which role she was responsible for major gift fundraising.
Dr Chris Warner has been appointed a Deputy Senior Tutor from October 2024, succeeding Dr Paul Griffiths, and working alongside Dr Brian McCabe in that role.
Dr Warner says: “I am delighted to be starting a new role as Deputy Senior Tutor. I joined Robinson in 2001 and, over the years, have served the College in roles.
Professor Rosalind Love has been elected by Governing Body to be Deputy Warden of Robinson College from October 2024, succeeding Professor Anuj Dawar.
Professor Love is Elrington and Bosworth Professor of Anglo-Saxon and Head of the Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic Department @cambridgeuniversity where she researches in and teaches Medieval Latin.
