The Arts and Humanities Summer Taster is an opportunity for students to gain an insight into university learning at Cambridge, through subject taster sessions and lectures led by the College's academic community. The event will cover a variety of topics from within the following discipline strands:
This structure allows students to consider and compare multiple subjects - including those they may not have previously encountered - and gain an insight into the connections and skills that underpin degree courses within each discipline.
The 2024 Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Summer Taster will be held at Robinson College, one of the Colleges that form the University of Cambridge. There will be subject taster sessions, admissions information, and exploration of the College and the wider University. The event is free-of-charge, with accommodation and meals provided by the College. Travel expenses are not typically covered unless students meet our Travel Costs policy.
The event will fit around the University-wide July Open Days, to allow attendees to make best use of their time in Cambridge.
The Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Summer Taster will run from the afternoon of 2nd July - the evening of 3rd July. Students attending the event who also wish to attend the July Open Days on 4th and 5th July are also entitled to accommodation in Robinson College for the night of 3rd July.
The Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Summer Taster is open to all students currently in Year 12 (England & Wales), Year 13 (Northern Ireland) or S5 (Scotland).
